Royal Haskoning is currently developing a new oil harbour for the Azzawiya Oil Refining Company (ARC). The harbour is to be located in Libya, some 50 km to the West of capitol Tripoli. Currently, the ARC refinery operates three buoy moorings for tanker traffic and a small craft harbour for its small tugs, line boats, workboats and similar craft. In an attempt to increase operational efficiency and reliability and reduce downtime, the buoys are to be replaced by a fully protected harbour, providing amongst other for 3 new oil jetties, smaller berths for bunker fuel vessels and tugs etc, and materials offload facility for the planned revamp of the refinery.

Our scope includes a/o the design of breakwaters, approach channel & dredging, jetties, quay walls, piping and its routing, tie-in to existing piping and installations, roads, electric cabling etc.
